Drion-Manic
Claveciniste et ténor franco-serbe, Zeljko Drion-Manic est notamment connu pour s’accompagner au clavier en chantant. Il interprète autant des grands classiques du répertoire baroque, que des rôles faits « sur mesure » dans des créations musico – théâtrales. Son expérience de chanteur lui donne une qualité d’écoute et précision d'exécution dans sa manière de jouer et d’accompagner au clavier, coacher et diriger, ce qui est particulièrement apprécié par ses collègues chanteurs. Il travaille comme chef de chant, accompagnateur et coach pour le contre-ténor Xavier Sabata, Les Ombres, B-Rock, Harmonia Sacra, Scherzi Musicali, ensemble Il Buranello, Musiektheatar Transparant, l'Académie de musique ancienne de Lanvellec, Jetse academie Muziek-Woord-Dans et Hoofdstedelijke Kunstacademie Brussel.
Il apparait sur scène à travers l’Europe avec François Fernandez, Julien Chauvin, Jaap Schröder, Valentin Tournet, Les Muffatti, La Chapelle Harmonique, Harmonia Sacra, Il Buranello, La Nef des Fous, BarrocoTout, Belgrade Baroque, Collegium Musicum Bruxelles, et dans les salles et festivals tels que Festival d’Ambronay, Händel-Fetspiele Göttingen, Festival Musiq3, L’Embaroquemment Immediat, MAfestival fringe, OudeMuziek Utrecht fringe, RadioKulturhaus Wien, Sinfonia en Perigord, Les Festivales de Wallonie, MUBAFA, Bach Days Brussels, Les Claviers en Folie, BOZAR, Chapelle Royale de Versailles, Flagey, deSingel, Music Chapel Festival, Jeunes Talents Paris, Early Music Timisoara festival, Ars vivendi clavicembalum...
En tant que chanteur-claviériste il joue le rôle-titre de L’Orfeo – Monteverdi en 2017 à deSingel (Anvers, Belgique) mis en scène par Luigi De Angelis et dirigé par Hernán Schvartzman, dans une production Translab de Muziektheater Transparant. Son prochain grand rôle du même genre sera la reprise du spectacle « Charivari » mis en scène par Denis Mignien, avec l’Ensemble Il Buranello dans le festival d’Avignon 2025, ainsi que la tournée du même spectacle dans la saison 2025-26 et enregistrement CD du même programme.
Zeljko commence ses premiers cours de musique à l’accordéon à l’âge de 6 ans en Serbie, puis continue avec le piano, clavecin, chant et se forme comme chef de chant. En parallèle il remporte les 1ers prix de divers concours : le Concours de piano Kornelije Stankovic (2008), le Concours national de chant lyrique de République Serbe (2011), du 10ème Festival International Petar Stojanovic - catégorie chant lyrique (2012)...
En 2017 Zeljko obtient le master en clavecin au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles avec grande distinction (classe de Frédérick Haas), et étudie le chant lyrique au Conservatoire Royal de La Haye (avec Amand Heckers, et mineure en baroque avec Pascal Bertin, Robin Blaze, Peter Kooij). Il gagne le ABA Award (2014 Gmunden, Autriche) et le 3e prix Concours Internation de Clavecin Conde de Oeiras (2018 Lisbon, Portugal). Il est sélectionné pour EEEmerging en 2016 avec l’ensemble BarrocoTout et comme soliste et continuiste pour l’OFJ Baroque avec Rinaldo Alessandrini en 2017.
À son arrivée en Belgique Zeljko est invité à ouvrir l’exposition rétrospective de A. Watteau à BOZAR pour la presse par un récital « F. Couperin » au clavecin. La même saison il tourne dans les concertos de Bach pour clavecin et chordes en Belgique, France et Serbie.
Il se spécialise lors de nombreuses master classes et cours donnés par des artistes tels que Pierre Hantaï, Skip Sempé, Amandine Beyer, Mira Glodeanu, Aline Zylberajch, Martin Gester, Jeremy Joseph, Goska Isphording, Élisabeth Chojnacka, Nicolas Achten, Paolo Zanzu…
Ses concerts ont été diffusés et enregistrés par France Musique et Culturebox (France), Musiq3 et Klara (Belgique), radio ORF (Autriche) et Radio Beograd (Serbie). Plus récemment il enregistre des disques avec les ensembles Les Muffatti, Musæ Joivis et participe dans le disque d’auteur Sanda Majurec. Jug K. Markovic et Sanda Majurec lui ont dédié leurs œuvres pour clavecin.

Zeljko Drion-Manic is a Franco-Serbian harpsichordist and tenor, particularly known for accompanying himself on the keyboard while singing. He performs both major works of the Baroque repertoire and tailor-made roles in musical-theatrical creations. His experience as a singer lends a unique sensitivity and precision to his keyboard playing, accompaniment, coaching, and conducting — qualities especially appreciated by his fellow singers.
He works as a vocal coach, accompanist, and répétiteur for countertenor Xavier Sabata, and with ensembles such as Les Ombres, B-Rock, Harmonia Sacra, Scherzi Musicali, Il Buranello, Muziektheater Transparant, the Lanvellec Early Music Academy, Jetse Academie Muziek-Woord-Dans, and the Hoofdstedelijke Kunstacademie Brussel.

As a singer-harpsichordist, he played the title role in L'Orfeo by Monteverdi in 2017 at deSingel (Antwerp, Belgium), staged by Luigi De Angelis and conducted by Hernán Schvartzman, in a Translab / Muziektheater Transparantproduction. His next major project of this kind is a revival of the show Charivari, staged by Denis Mignien with Ensemble Il Buranello, scheduled for the Avignon Festival 2025, followed by a tour during the 2025–26 season and a CD recording of the same program.
Zeljko began his musical education with accordion lessons at the age of six in Serbia, then continued with piano, harpsichord, singing, and vocal coaching. Alongside his studies, he won several first prizes in competitions: the Kornelije Stankovic Piano Competition (2008), the National Classical Singing Competition of the Republic of Serbia (2011), and the 10th Petar Stojanovic International Festival – vocal category (2012).
In 2017, he obtained a Master’s degree in Harpsichord from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with great distinction (under Frédérick Haas), and studied classical singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, with Amand Heckers and a baroque minor with Pascal Bertin, Robin Blaze, and Peter Kooij. He was awarded the ABA Award (2014, Gmunden, Austria) and 3rd Prize at the Conde de Oeiras International Harpsichord Competition(2018, Lisbon, Portugal). He was selected for EEEmerging in 2016 with BarrocoTout and as soloist and continuo player for the OFJ Baroque with Rinaldo Alessandrini in 2017.
Upon arriving in Belgium, Zeljko was invited to open the Antoine Watteau retrospective at BOZAR with a “F. Couperin” harpsichord recital for the press. That same season, he toured performing Bach’s harpsichord concertos in Belgium, France, and Serbia.
He has refined his skills in numerous masterclasses with artists such as Pierre Hantaï, Skip Sempé, Amandine Beyer, Mira Glodeanu, Aline Zylberajch, Martin Gester, Jeremy Joseph, Goska Isphording, Élisabeth Chojnacka, Nicolas Achten, and Paolo Zanzu.
His performances have been broadcast and recorded by France Musique, Culturebox (France), Musiq3 and Klara (Belgium), ORF Radio (Austria), and Radio Belgrade (Serbia). More recently, he has recorded albums with Les Muffatti, Musæ Joivis, and participated in an album by composer Sanda Majurec. Composers Jug K. Markovic and Sanda Majurec have dedicated harpsichord works to him.
